Dial Restoration

Our experts are professionals in the restoration of antique dials for watch dealers, watch collectors and watch enthusiasts. Traditional methods are used in this process to achieve a high quality finish. We are able to cover most styles and periods from the beginning of the 1900 to modern times.

the metal made dials are made mostly of brass for famous makes such as Rolex, Omega Bulova, Longines, IWC and Hamilton. Stainless steel plates are used for the prints and we have an extensive collection of prints covering Rolex, Zenith, Omega, Tissot, Avia, IWC, Patek Phillipe, Bulova Cartier, Waltham, Elgin and many other less famous makes.

Many of our printing plates date back to the 1930s and we have acquired a vast selection of prints which are a match for most watch dial. It is also possible to customise prints by request. In a situation where we do not have your exact print in our library we can also make a completely new stainless steel plate print for you.

The majority of restoration techniques were developed by the Swiss and later by the Americans, dating back to the 20th Century. Some of these techniques include the plain silver plated finish and the swiss Argenté, which is a white surface with a pearl effect. Refinishing the dial, lengthens its lifespan as well as giving a highly polished as new finish.

The dial refinishing process is comprised of many stages from the cleaning and preparation treatment to applying the final finish together with adding numbering and text.
